Well we'd completed 120 burrows on Friday leaving 80 to complete (or so I thought). Auge said he'd done 220 but I thought the number was closer to 200, as it turned out it was 204. But, we were 26 nesting boxes short so it was time to get out the fiberglass and repair the damaged ones and contrive a way to strengthen the blow molded pots the City had provided. A quick trip, actually several trips to Home Depot and Lowes got the needed materials and we were off mixing fiberglass to fix the pots. I had to cut some additional hardware cloth as well! By 5PM Cynomys was loaded for the next morning!

Another beautiful day on the mesa. The hawk was surveying the scene as I arrived but flew off when I tried to get a picture of him. The work did not go quickly. I had to finish the pre drilled pots and then drill and slot the remaining pots. That done I decided to go ahead and plot the remaining burrows, so I spent most of the day out there, but when I left, all was ready for Monday!

Ray and I were out waiting for Auge at 0700 but he didn't arrive (we later learned it was the weekly safety meeting that held him up). We continued with site tidying but left at about 0900; Auge came later and finished the backfill. We'll check tomorrow and cap the burrows but that's 204 burrows completed for next year's release!
